I was thrilled to have the page I designed from our COVID-19 supplement in our 2019-20 yearbook receive special recognition from the National Scholastic Press Association. I worked really hard on the design and felt really strongly about the topics being covered. Luckily, I had a wonderful group to assist me with the coverage on the page. We were able to cover a nurse in the community working on the front-lines, as well as how people were adapting from creating homemade masks to building ventilator machines. The page also features a tribute to a GBHS alumni who our community unfortunately lost to the virus.

 

This felt like so much more than a yearbook spread. We not only focused on the virus' impact on our student body, but the community as a whole.
